A Whisper Roar
It's not a sight
I miss
So much as a sound.
A whisper roar
back and forth.
Poseidon in his water nest
Smiling benignly on
the mortals in his waves.
Sea nymphs scatter in the face of
small fish with stick thin
legs and
sunburned skin.
Neptune keeps the sea in hand
gives the mortals reign
The trident once is set aside
to let the humans play.
